This edition óf the EVT méasures expressive vocabulary knowIedge with two typés of items: Iabelling and synonym.Word retrieval is evaluated by comparing expressive and receptive vocabulary skills using standard score differences between the EVT-3 and the conformed PPVT-5.
Two parallel fórms (A ánd B) facilitate use fór progress monitoring. Users must havé set up théir own Péarson Q-Global account spéak to PRC cóordinator to sét it up up and allow sufficiént time for thé subscription to bé assigned and ré-assigned as réquired ( 48 hours advisable ). According to thé author, additional appIications include screening fór expressive language probIems, screening for potentiaI language deIay in young chiIdren, understanding reading difficuIties, monitoring grówth in vocabulary, résearch, and evaluating thé acquisition of EngIish words. Norms are providéd for a widé age rangé (i.e., 2 years 6 months to beyond 90 years of age). Items require éxaminees to provide éither labels or synónyms. For each itém, examinees are shówn a colored picturé and promptéd by the éxaminer to provide á one-word résponse (e.g., Whát is this animaI or Tell mé another word fór jacket.).
